Hey so I have been seriously looking into getting a plate carrier setup lately and wanted to share some thoughts after doing a ton of research on steel body armor versus ceramic armor plates because honestly the amount of conflicting info out there is wild, like some people swear by AR500 steel plates because they are tough as nails and can take multiple hits without failing while others say the spall and fragmentation issue with steel is a dealbreaker and you should just go with ceramic armor plates even though they can crack after one good hit, and when it comes to the whole body armor weight comparison thing steel is definitely heavier which matters a lot if you plan on wearing your plate carrier setup for extended periods, but then again Level IV plates in ceramic are expensive as heck compared to steel options so budget is a real factor in any body armor resources (
